Repeating what has been a rallying cry of gay activism for years, the cover of the December 16, 2008 issue of The Advocate announced, “Gay is the New Black: The Last Great Civil Rights Struggle.” Last week, on May 19th, headlines across the nation announced, “NAACP endorses gay marriage as ‘civil right.’” So, is gay the new black?
There are prominent black leaders who say yes, including Congressman John Lewis, who was active in the early Civil Rights movement.

NEWSFLASH!
The sophistication of federal lawmakers' speech patterns is on the decline, with members of Congress now talking, on average, at the level of high school sophomores. According to a new report by the Sunlight Foundation, Congress has fallen by almost a full grade-level since 2005.
Yup. I'm sorry to say, you've been feeling so much respect for a bunch of people who don't speak any better than your kid in high school!

T-minus 70 days and counting. The last day of work for the school year ended with 18 holes of golf. It is a bitter-sweet end; I am losing a first year co-worker who is just awesome at the job, and thanks to the immoral union practice of seniority realignment, an incompetent employee is keeps their job. That’s public unions for ya!
Anyway, my Friday bowling league starts tomorrow, followed by my Tuesday bowling league next week. I am also slowly starting the process to adopt another best friend. I still have three really great pups, and I love them to death, but I am stilling needing to fill the paws of Dude. Toughest part about this search, is that I always want to take in all of them! I still dream of having 20 fenced acres in the foothills where I could keep em’ all!
I also plan to blog a lot more than I have in the past week. I now have the identities of both the guys who have contacted my employer, and my cyber tech army buddy nailing down the location of the person who used my work e-mail to impersonate me and sign me up to porn sites. We are hoping this person used either their home or work computer. Much easier to prove who did it.
