I am re-posting this from my buddy UW's site.I like to post stuff that I don't always agree with. I will re-state my view that I am against almost every federal program that goes to the sick, or un-employed. I would rather see private support, or at the very most, state, and county assistance. I am just a rugged individualist, drink my beer, and eat my dinner, out of a can type of guy:)

I can’t believe he got re-elected over a quality man like Bob Dole. He is a fraud. He claims credit for balancing the budget and the pundits so credit him. Newt Gingrich and republicans threatened shutdown and forced them to sign their balanced budget. Newt balanced the budget, not Bill.

Carl, many of Bill’s supporters do not agree with your view Newt made him do it. I am not a Newt fan, but I do believe Newt and the Repubs had a lot to do with the things Bill did. Sadly, both parties are infected with human viruses that believe the federal government knows all, and can solve all of life’s problems.

Hi Carl-Newt did nothing but ride herd on the Republican Statis Quo, and don his Cotton Mather , hat for his witch hunt on Clinton. What was all that about, oh yea a politician in a high office messing around on his wife,,, If I’m not mistaken Newt turns around and does the same thing in a less public way a short time later,, It appears the witch hunter had one in his own closet.:) Every
Democrat coming into office is forced to play clean up, and reawaken Washington watchdogs to the buddy system that keeps big business backed consistently,,, as George Bush jr, said at a high dollar dinner, (he was happy to see the Haves, and the have mores,) We all know what its about and the reason why our country never works together , Why instead of one party set up to use a system negotiated and agreed upon as best for ( All) Americans ,do we have instead two or three groups of rich boy s that jointly waste millions if not billions in their elections never tiring of running for prom king. Its a popularity contest at the ultimate country club, and the rest of us are just supposed to grin and bear it, and give a reluctant golf clap occasionally.

You can drink your beer and eat your dinner, and play golf till the rest of the conservative cows come home, but until you live through catastrophic health issues you just don’t know what your talking about. You at the present time appear free of those worries, you should try to remember the people who now receive those benefit’s (some of my family,and friends ) lived highly individual lives before their brush with fate. They like you were proud of their self sufficiency.
be careful you don’t get drunk and fall down and gimp up a leg, or eat too much too often and need heart surgery,,, or wreck your golf cart and become paraplegic,,, because then as the nurses feed you you’ll find not your favorites but a menu made up largely of crow.

I do know what I am talking about. My pop owned his own business, and never had insurance. He would not take one cent from the federal nanny, and he died after a brutal, one year fight with cancer. He was proud to die a free man, who owed nothing, nor wanted anything, from the federal government in the way of medical help. Sorry, but I will die someday, with out asking, or taking, anything from the feds.
