MODESTO, Calif. — Aleo Pontillo, owner of Aj’s Bail Bonds, Janelle Llorens, and Mark Davis appeared in court Monday morning for their arraignment.
The Insurance commissioner’s office said the trio were arrested last Wednesday on suspicion of kidnapping clients for the purpose of extortion and insurance fraud.
The defense and prosecution argued about the bail amount. The defense said it had concerns regarding proper paperwork being filed at the proper time.
According to Pontillo’s attorney, Frank Carson, the affidavit to set a bail amount should have been read and signed off by a judge before bail was set. Carson doesn’t believe that happened.
The case is now continued for arraignment until Friday morning.
Bail for Pontillo remains at $1.5 million and $300,000 each for Llorens and Davis.

There would be no kidnapping charges if AJ’s agents had notified the PD before arresting these convicts. turns out it is legal to arrest them with conditions. Bail conditions.
Frank Carson said the exact same thing last week and that is this case is based upon mistakes and oversights.

What’s really messed up is he has to wait until Friday to get bailed out of jail because of this Judges oversight, I heard that the jails cells are packed to at least four to six men per cell. He’ll be fighting those gang bangers before the weeks out.

agaun, there is probably an interpretation issue here. If the government is wrong, and these folks win, they will retire of off the counter-suit.
