Country Style Ribs in Italian Sauce
6 meaty country style ribs

2-3 tablespoons olive oil

Kosher salt and pepper

1 tablespoon mixed dried Italian seasonings (basil, oregano)

1 medium onions, chopped

2 garlic cloves chopped

¼ cup red wine

3-4 cups of homemade sauce or 1 jar prepared tomato basil sauce

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 bay leaf

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional, for a spicy version)

Heat olive oil in large skillet. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels and sprinkle with salt, pepper and Italian seasonings. Place as many ribs as possible in skillet, without crowding or touching. Sear each side until nicely browned and remove to place in slow cooker. Add onions and garlic to skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes or until softened. Stir in the wine and tomato paste and cook, scraping up the bottom the pan. Pour the onion and garlic mixture over the ribs and add in the tomato sauce and seasonings. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours or until the meat is tender and coming away from the bones. Discard any loose bones and bay leaf breaking up larger pieces. Pour over spaghetti and serve hot.

Hi Vivien; for some reason the link did not post, so here it is
I don’t know what the spaghetti is. I am sure if you go to her blog, Savoring will tell you.
I see UW removed my comment about colored sneakers! I said they do not want to be called colored, but rather Sneaker- American!

I will check that link out. Thank you.

You love to push her buttons, don’t ya? Upps does like to keep a clean house. Don’t feel bad, she has to removes mine sometimes too. I still love her.

BTW, thanks for re-stating it over here. I hate to miss the good comments. It was funny.

I don’t push them on purpose, I think it is more “me, just being me”! Do you have a blog Vivien? If you don’t you should. I really enjoy reading your responses on UW’s blog.

Unlike you, I push them on purpose, and that is “me, just being me.” I don’t think she minds, or she would have kicked me to the curb long ago. And you know what? I’m sure the same could be said about you. I think she likes to hear a different perspective. Then again she does have her limits. In fact, I’m sure she’s waiting for me to stop by to get my punishment for last nite. I made a mess, then invited someone to help. She was none too happy, having to clear house first thing this morning. I don’t blame her.

And I want to thank you for the compliments. Hers and maybe a couple others are the only ones I follow. I don’t really have the time, but for Upps, I make the time. She’s a good person. I wanta know what she thinks. I’m still very Impressionable. Maybe some of her wisdom will rub off. Who knows.

Have a Happy Hill Billy New Year.
