How the Doctrine of the Trinity Developed

The doctrine of the Trinity separates orthodox Christian teaching from heresy. This essential teaching of Christianity states that we believe in one God who exists in three separate and distinct persons–God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each member is equal in nature and substance. (For a biblical defense of the Trinity, see Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Trinity.)
A common question raised by heretical groups is, When and how did this doctrine develop? According to the Watchtower tract Should You Believe in the Trinity? this doctrine was not held by the church fathers. Rather, it was imposed on the church by the pagan emperors who had “converted” to Christianity at the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D. and the Council of Constantinople in 381 A.D. The bishops in attendance were overawed by the emperor and signed the creed…

A Friends Take On The Liberal Mind

A buddy of mine had posted this as a response at another blog site. He is a co-moderator at the site, along with another guy who is his polar opposite. While my friend A-1 is a conservative, Christian who lives his faith, the other is a pukey, atheist, drug dealing/taken liberal hypocrite who lives in his parent’s basement. Oh, did I mention he is over 50 and unemployed? Anyways, I digress:

A-1 states:
The liberal worldview is self refuting. Almost all liberal thinking adheres to Darwinian Evolutionary theory. Survival of the fittest, natural selection propelling the strongest and best adaptations to the next generation. Yet they contradict themselves with this kumbaya, take care of each other, it takes a village paradigm. They claim altruism is a social construct that society has recognized as being beneficial.
Why? Why would anybody even care about anybody else in a dog eat dog world. How would completely separate biological entities, acting out of self interest, ever come up with the concept of oppressing the poor being wrong.
To be consistent with their presuppositions, oppressing the poor would be a good thing. To be entirely consistent they should have the Conan the Barbarian worldview.

Conan! What is best in life?
Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

They only way the liberal can operate with their worldview is to “steal” morality from our theistic worldview. We know oppressing the poor is wrong because God tells us it is wrong and compassion is consistent with his character.

The liberal claims morality evolved. Why would it evolve? It is contradictory to their worldview. Eugenics, Nazi Germany, forced abortion, and euthanasia is where their worldview goes once you peel back the onion of self deception.

Christ Jesus himself as the chief “cornerstone”. Eph 2:20 (NIV)

Breaking The Law

No, I am not freshly out of the pokey. I was not arrested for some drunken hillbilly shenanigans, as if there are any other type. I am just breaking my law of blogging on a weekend. Though it is a three-day weekend for me. So I guess this counts as a Friday 2.0!

I just wanted to post a few random, meaningless thoughts before I shove off into doing whatever it is I do!

Here I go: If happy hours at bars generate more business, why don’t they just run it from open till close?

Why does every drop of moisture always land in your crotch when you are in a public place?

How many substances can be found on your shoes?

Why hasn’t somebody taken my advice and invented reversible underwear with one side being brown, and the other yellow?

Why do people shrink as they get older?

Why do psychic get hit by cars?

Why don’t psychic when the lottery every time.

Why am I not drinkin’ beer instead of writing this post?
