Yup, at 11am today a sheriff deputy was murdered while serving eviction papers just blocks from where I live. Though I know his name, I will not post it due to the fact there might be close friends and family members who have not been contacted. The place where he was murdered is ripe with drugs and gangs. While many residents of Modesto might not know, there is a war between black and Hispanic drug dealers that is raging out of control. This might not be drug related, it might turn out that the murderer was pissed off that he was getting the boot for non-payment. Who knows. What I do know is that a helicopter has been circling for hours, traffic is locked down on Prescott, and Conant, and there is an officer, father, husband, son who will not be going home tonight, or ever.

I am so very, very sorry for the widow and all family members. What a lot of civilians don’t seem to know is that his fellow officers and those of us who wore a badge before are also sad. I wore mine for over 13 years and I still grieve for dead law enforcement officers whatever the cause. God Bless You All..

I just can’t imagine the daily pressure of knowing there is a chance of being killed on the job….every single day? It takes a special kind of person to do these jobs…God Bless them all.

One witness is saying it was a planned out ambush. He knew the sheriff’s deputy would be there this morning….

If this is true, I hope they shoot and kill him.

The SWAT Team snipers will get him. They can hit a one inch mark from a humdred yards away, they can shoot with great accuracy.

I don’t understand why the Government doesn’t take a cue from ending prohibition and simply legalize drugs. That act alone would pull the rug out from under the drug cartels, thus minimizing the gang wars that spring up as a result of the black market. They could tax the drugs and use the revenues to set up clinics for people that want to rid themselves of their habit. Anyone wanting to use drugs will use drugs whether they are legal or not, so the Government may as well tax them like they do everything else. Granted legalizing drugs won’t do much for some sicko that would murder a law-enforcement office over an eviction notice, but it would still take a bite out of crime in the long run, the way I see it. Eitherway, my condolences go out to the family of the officer that lost his life doing his job. It is sad that people feel the need to kill each other for any reason. May the officer RIP.
