The Bond movies are simply “comfortable” fun. They poke fun at Americans, but in a nice way. Like when you tease a close relative about a zit on their nose. We always know Bond will not die. Everything mechanical he touches will, but not Bond. He is a very nice “Bad” boy, who mans up when it comes to helping his allies. He does not always follow his orders, but he gets his job done. Many people identify with this! Lastly, dude never seems to need sleep or use the crapper, Instead, he gambles, drinks, and has sex. I guess Bond is the ultimate grown-ups’ cartoon.

What is it about Bond … James Bond? I’ve been sitting on this review for a while now, trying to figure out the appeal from a woman’s point of view, because we all know why boys like it; the car, the gadgets, the girls, the independence, the danger and of course the sex, but why do we (girls) like it? All of the above? Maybe. Although, I seem to recall Sean Connery once slapping a girl’s behind, and telling her “man talk!” I doubt Gloria Steinem would approve, and I’m not sure I do, and yet I loved the series, and plan to re-watch them as soon as I have the chance with my husband, who admittedly uses the man talk slap at his own risk and peril.
