Shall we call them the Obama five?
In a story moving so fast that going out for cheap Chinese means missing something, some questions are surfacing to which the answer is not going to be pretty:
- If the five Taliban traded in the prisoner swap really were the worst of the worst, why is there a further need to empty Guantanamo Bay? Wouldn’t the foot soldiers there be considered collateral damage by the enemy? They’ve got the masterminds back.
- If ground level intelligence really was available multiple times on where Bowe Bergdahl was and how many men were holding him, why didn’t Special Forces go in and get him? Isn’t that what they are trained to do?
- If Bergdahl served with such honor and distinction, why did his platoon mates to a man dispute that – without hesitation and on national television to anyone who would listen.
