I was discussing with a friend what I would do if I was ever invited to meet the president of the USA. The topic came up while watching a sports show, and a pro team met with the prez.
I know longer adhere to the belief of respecting the office. The office is not the same as it was when Washington had it. Those who have read any of my political rants know why I believe as I do. To meet the president, and not have a chance to talk one on one with him would be a waste of time.
I would much rather meet with a cold beer, and a bowl of peanuts. At least they are honest and real.

A few years ago Tim Thomas of the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins refused to go, do to his political differences with Obama and was widely criticized for it, I say the man stood up for his principals and I applauded him for it..

Awesome, I don’t follow hockey but I will follow Mr. Thomas….he is a real man.
