Yahoo And WordPress: Controlling Information?

I just recieved an e-mail informing me that my post will no longer feed to Yahoo. Interesting. My couple of post relating to the Boston Marathon blast has generated hundreds of hits that came from Yahoo. I am wondering why Yahoo and apparently Word-Press has an issue with this?

Hi there,

We’re getting in touch to let you know about a change in the Sharing Settings on your WordPress.com or Jetpack-powered WordPress site.

One of your sites(The Conservative Hillbilly) was previously connected to Yahoo! Updates through the Publicize feature. Yahoo! is no longer supporting their Updates API, so we’ve disabled your connection and your posts will no longer be Publicized to Yahoo! Updates (if you’ve connected any other services, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Tumblr, these will still work just as before). You don’t need to do anything, we’re just letting you know.

You can check your current Publicize connections by visiting Settings → Sharing in your Dashboard.

You can read more about Publicize in this support article.

Thanks for flying with WordPress.com!

Must Be Doing Something Right: Got Folks Contacting The Brass

Yup, found out that two people in the last year have made it a point to contact my employer and try to say that I am writing racist, and bigoted threads on company time. Of course, working for a public entity they tried to tie in the ripping off, or theft of the tax payer’s dime. No need in getting the facts straight that I am allowed to use the puter for personal reason during breaks and lunches.

I also got a kick out of how one of these folks tried to say that people who read my personal views, and other materials that I re-blog, would think that my district was in support of “ALL” of them! What a hoot these libsters are when they don’t agree with you.

So here is what I posted at the site that this sub-human dwells at:
Welcome To The Dance MHoffman;
I won’t bore ya with the all of the details, but somebody using a gmail account, and the letters mhoffman took the time to e-mail my place of employment with some articles of mine. Sadly, they had been altered by this hoffman person. I was easily able to point this out. Also, every other charge this person made, was easily dealt with. Bottom line: somebody has tried to mess with one of my sources of income, which is one of the three things that I will deal with by all means necessary to stop. I have a pretty good line on who this person is. Sometimes, people just make choices that they are not willing to pay the price for making, hoffman at g-mail, you don’t stand a chance against me. 🙂

I have also been able to obtain a IP address for this person, but it shows some place in Virginia, which I am sure is not where this stain resides. Here is the IP address and maybe someone can give me a hand on figuring out where this person really is from.

I See You!

I just noticed something interesting when I was checking my blog stats. Someone has searched all of my thread titles from the past few weeks. I know I blog at a local site, and have a couple of fat, unemployed, liberal chuckle heads who dislike me because I disprove all of their liberal views. I also continue to call them out on their racial, and bigoted stances.

What is cool about WordPress, is that I am able to locate the basement/half way house they are doing this from. Well, at least the town. So a big thanks to WordPress for this wonderful tool. I though it might have been the feds, and that I was going to have to build a new foil lid for my bucket.:)

Once A Day? Maybe Twice A Week? Visit Our Followers!

I started thinking about what would happen if all of us bloggers made it a point to visit our followers a little more often? And while we are there, be sure to “like” or “re-blog” a post? I know I like meeting new voices, and faces, via my daily blogging journey. I have met more nice people in the last few months here, than I have in public. I am not quite sure how this sounds! 🙂

I know I have become much more aware of differing, and like-minded views through my blog. I have also become better educated about my new favorite group of folks; The Foodies.” This is not to say I don’t enjoy everybody’s friendship just as much.

Well this is just my nickel’s worth of an idea to help grow our blogging friends, which in turn grows our views. And it is safe to say we all like to check our “views today” chart.

God Bless ya all!
