The Dream Is Over

I am back on the job, and my summer vacation is nothing but a memory. There is no doubt that Marcella’s and Shooter’s Coor’s level will be affected. The countdown begins anew: 177 working days thanks to liberal politicians and the CSEA’s ignorant leaders.

Well, anyway I am back so let the writings begin:)

CSEA’s Job Steward Training: Conservative Voices Not Allowed

Brutal, brutal, brutal is about all I can say about ny eight hours of attendance of Job Steward training. Let me start by saying that everyone I had contact with was pleasant, and cordial. This applies to the presenters too. The day started off with all of us introducing ourselves and giving a “fun” fact. Most folks spoke about kids, or grandkids. I was the only one who referred to my educational background. Of course, I do everything in the “union setting” for a reason. My reason for this? To let fellow members know we just might have a variety of backgrounds amongst our membership, and this might lead to different views on subjects. Of course, I have learned that the CSEA’s leadership, at all levels, are not open to this. I hear so much about getting our “voices” heard, but only if it is an approved voice.

During the entire eight hours, I never asked a question, nor made a comment on any of the subject matter. I had many opportunities to point out the hypocritical nature of the “approved” message of the CSEA. Like how raising taxes takes money out of our pockets, or how government mandated health care raises the cost of the service. One of the presenters was elated by the fact that prop 30 passed, but never mentioned the fact that changes to the Way California spends money like a drunken sailor have not been addressed. Or how the CSEA continues to endorse the same drunken liberal sailor politicians.

It will be interesting to see what will happen if I pursue the Fully Jacketed Job Steward title. Apparently, I will have to partake in political activities that I am opposed to. The question is: Do I bite the bullet and do it and then speak my conservative views? Thus making me a hypocrite, like so many of the CSEA’s leadership are.

Time will tell. For conservatives such as myself, being a member is equal to being a pilgrim in an un-holy land.

My Post-Union Election Update

I attended the first union meeting tonight since losing the election in December. As some of you already know, I lost by 13 votes. Too close for a few in my chapter apparently. Come to find out, the current officers decided to add a prerequisite for the president’s seat only. In order to run, a person must attend, and complete the Job Steward’s training. Yup, never mind the four-year degrees in English and Business. Just complete 16 hours of semi-brain washing from the punch drinkers in the C.S.E.A. that can’t tolerate a conservative’s views or ideas. Needles to say, that if more people like me were running the union for the past 25 years, we would not be in the mess we now find ourselves.

I can’t wait to inform every chapter member possible tomorrow about this “Event”. I figure it will open the eyes of those who chose not to vote in this past election. I also heard several times how some who did not vote for me, would have voted for me if I had taken the classes. Funny thing is, I completed the first level of training several years ago, but the Union decided to change the length of the courses, so I have to re-take the first stage again! So it looks like a win-win for me. Whether I take the courses or not, I will win.

Did I Lose?

Well, I came up thirteen votes shy of victory. But I feel as though I did not lose. We had over a 60% turnout. Folks were able to vote throughout the day, instead of the usual “after” work only time-table. I have also been offered a position with the union, from my vague understanding, gathers political information and then puts it all together in written form, that explains WHY the union’s top leadership wants folks to vote as they tell em’ to. I had to ask the lady if she realized who she was offering this to? And that she realized that I am the opposed to almost all of the CSEA’s political views.

So overall, I am pleased with my performance: I know I followed all the rules of the election, I never spoke ill of my opponent, and I did not say anything I thought people “wanted” to hear. Bottom line, I was honest.

If You Are White And Conservative Please Shut Up

The other night while I was answering questions about my views, and opinions on differing subjects, it became quite apparent that some folks can’t get beyond race when it comes to an open discussion. I am very outspoken, (that might be the biggest understatement since someone mumbled to Custer, “This won’t take long”) when it comes to racial hypocrisy. Heck, just hypocrisy in general. One of my best lines was when someone stated;”I don’t think you will represent my race in this union.” My response, ” What, you are not of the human race?”

Yup, being a good ol’ white boy and talking about subjects such illegal immigration, or “race” voting is considered racist speak. Yet, non-whites who speak about protecting their race(whatever that means) or organizing themselves by race, is perfectly fine. The New Black Panthers, MECHA, or La Raza ring a bell? Try mentioning that Planned Parenthood has murdered millions of innocent, unborn black babies in the womb, and that the organization was started by a white eugenists, and not a peep out of many folks of any color. See the hypocrisy?

O.k., let me bring this to a personal level. I make the point that anyone who works for a California public union and votes for a tax increase, or candidates who vote for, or will vote for tax increases and mandated health care, are voting themselves a pay cut! They are also removing the source of funding for their jobs: The tax payer and businesses. It should not be that difficult to see this. Sadly, too many folks are either too greedy, stupid, or just plain ignorant to see, or even care.

I have made these points crystal clear, and I get banned from my C.S.E.A.’s Face Book page because offer a differing view from that of the union’s top leadership. I have a couple of ignorant members making accusations against me and intentionally misquoting me. Nothing is more satisfying than responding to questions from ignorant folks that, by their own words, reveal illogical reasoning and lack of critical thinking skills.

If this country is ever going to return to is conservative, self-reliant, law-abiding, every legal immigrant is welcome here roots,( which I truly doubt we will), we have to start injecting ourselves into the lowest levels of government; school boards, union boards, school boards, county seats and panels, and work our way up. I believe us folks of like minds need to re-locate to counties, and states and build from there. It is going to be an uphill battle, due to the simple fact that over half the population has figured out that they can vote people into offices that will give them stuff for free, and that will steal stuff from those of us who won’t vote for these immoral bums.

My Stuff So Don’t Steal It

I have noticed that my post about my run for president of my local union is generating a lot of hits. Thanks to Word Press, I can trace many of these to my area. Which is awesome! Thing is, I know that there are a few people who dislike me, and my views so much, that they are willing to lie about me in every way. To these folks I will say once again;

“The re-printing of this letter is the sole property of John David Heaton III; aka The Conservative Hillbilly. It may not be re-printed or distributed without my permission. If you are a part of my anti-fan club, and try to screw with me or my material, I will kick your ass only in court, if you are lucky and I am in a good mood:)”

If, by chance, it is someone who works in my district, I will also contact the proper people in personnel.

What is amazing to me is the lack of civility and abundance of ignorance displayed by some who disagree with me. I can disagree with someone, but have a beer with them after all is said and done.

Don’t Look Now: My Support Is Growing

As I have said, I am running for president for my chapter’s presidency. I produced a flyer that introduces myself, and explains my views on topics that are directly related to the issues I and my fellow members are faced with. Well, looks like there are a lot more conservatives, and folks who want to deal with the issues in a professional, non-combative intelligent manner. I was once told by a fellow, liberal C.S.E.A. member that “your chapter is what you make it.” If I win this darn thing, I will have to tell him he is right. I am wondering how many other folks through out the C.S.E.A are of like mind? Could it be possible to actually shift the pro democrat, left-wing public union to the right? I say Ya betcha ya! The loss of jobs and the huge state debt can be directly tied to the public union’s leadership. And as I say, many of the average union workers, are hard-working, decent folks, just trying to provide for their families. Below is the letter that I wrote:

Hello;

My name is John Heaton and I will be running for president.

Let me start by telling you about myself: I attended Modesto Junior College and earned an A.S. in Business Management. I transferred to C.S.U. Stanislaus and earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. I later returned to Stanislaus State and completed an English Waiver that allowed me to enter the Teacher Credentialing program. I have worked at the high school since 2001. I attended and completed the Job Steward 1 training. I also served as President, and secretary of my Lion’s Club.

When asked why I would be willing to run for president of CSEA Chapter 31 , I responded,” Because I want to give new voices a chance to be heard in a safe and civil environment.” What do I mean by this? I believe there are many of us that want to work in a non combative, positive environment with our local district representatives and fellow union members. Speaking with multiple members over the past few years, many have voiced concern that they are being left out. They have been made to feel that if they are un-able to attend meetings, then they lose the right to have their voices heard.

If elected chapter president, these are a few things that I will promise to do:

# Insure that “all” Chapter 31 members rights are protected. Monitor RUSD actions and provide the members with monthly updates.

# Expect chapter members to always be respectful, and civil towards fellow union members, RUSD employees and school board members. Conduct ourselves the same way at all public forums. This means no personal attacks.

#- Always be honest and open with all members and not give answers to questions because it is “something they want to hear.”

#- Look for solutions to the problems we are facing from all points of views.

# Hold chapter meetings at various locations and times.

I would also like to address a concern that I am “anti-union”. This is untrue. I am against the continued support of politicians and propositions that raise personal taxes and discourage businesses from locating in California. It makes no sense to support politicians who claim to be for the union’s members, but raise the cost of living through increased taxes. And how much of our union dues have been spent over the years getting these people elected? But this is my opinion, and I do not care how a person votes, but only that their choice is an informed one.

I am very supportive of all our chapter’s members working together to ensure that none of our rights as workers, and individuals, are violated by our district office. I believe any member should feel confident they will be supported if, and when, there is a work related issue. As I have stated before, all members need to be civil, and respectful of each other. In these lean times, we need as much input from everyone.

The re-printing of this letter is the sole property of John David Heaton III; aka The Conservative Hillbilly. It may not be re-printed or distributed without my permission. If you are a part of my anti-fan club, and try to screw with me or my material, I will kick your ass only in court, if you are lucky and I am in a good mood:)

Rebuttal To CSEA’s President Alan D. Clark

Every month C.S.E.A. members receive a magazine entitled “FOCUS”. The reality is, it should be called “Out Of Focus”.

Let me start with the first few lines of his message. “In two weeks, the future of education and our rights to participate in political action will be decided.” Really, the “future of education.?” If this was the case, the C.S.E.A. would stop endorsing candidates that drive up the cost of doing business in California, and thus driving them out-of-state. And how are our “rights” going to be denied? We, as a union, won’t be forced to have our money spent on people and propositions that we do not agree with, and do our union more harm than good.

It gets better: “We have been working for months to educate our members and the public about what is at stake on Nov.6.” Translation, we have been blowing millions of dollars trying to convince people that raising taxes will help get us out of this financial mess. Sorry, taking more from the working population of California is a pay cut. And the C.S.E.A.’s top brass has been misleading its members for years. Once again, look at where we are and who has been in power in Sacramento for over thirty years?

Mr. Clark states; ” Proposition 30…stops $6 billion in cuts to education this year and stabilizes education funding for the next six years while our economy recovers.” Really? It raises our taxes this year, and for the next six years. Yup,the same plan that has brought us to the financial mess we are now in. How about asking Sacramento to cut spending, cut taxes, and bring companies to California? That’s right, the C.S.E.A does not support candidates and props that do these things.

O.K., now for more ridiculous claims by Mr. Clark; Prop 32…..,is a blatant attempt to silence our voices, strip us of our free speech rights, and if passed, will only be the beginning of attacks on collective bargaining, pensions and our rights as working men and women.” This is just too easy to disprove. How are our voices being “silenced”? They are not, each C.S.E.A member has the right to vote for, or against any person or prop. We have the right to give money to support any person or prop. We should not have our dues going to people and props that we disagree with Mr. Clark. Talk about silencing voices? The C.S.E.A.’s leadership “silences” the conservative voices quite well. As for collective bargaining? Read the words of F.D.R.:

“All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management. The very nature and purposes of government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with government employee organizations. The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress. Accordingly, administrative officials and employees alike are governed and guided, and in many instances restricted, by laws which establish policies, procedures, or rules in personnel matters. Particularly, I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place in the functions of any organization of government employees. Upon employees in the Federal service rests the obligation to serve the whole people, whose interests and welfare require orderliness and continuity in the conduct of government activities. This obligation is paramount. Since their own services have to do with the functioning of the Government, a strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government until their demands are satisfied. Such action, looking toward the paralysis of Government by those who have sworn to support it, is unthinkable and intolerable.”
As for pensions and benefits? Folks who work in the private sector wish they had our deal! These pensions are guaranteed by the state, and this is one more reason public sector unions should not be able to collectively bargain for pensions and benefits. Don’t misunderstand me, people who are currently receiving these benefits, and pensions, should be left alone. Going forward, new public union employees need to use their money, not the states, to provide for their golden years. They can band together and do this without state money.
Finally, because I am tired of taking apart Mr. Clark’s and the C.S.E.A’s propaganda, I will end on this quote; ” This election is not about right or left, but Right and Wrong.” I just have to agree with this. The “Right” is right, and the “Left” is wrong.

I am finding growing support in my bid for my chapter’s presidency. Some of the people are seeing the hypocrisy and the lack of respect for rules and civility, and are coming to my support. I may, or may not win, but I have some folks questioning our union’s leadership. This is a start!
