There is much more to the story than what we in the West have been brainwashed with when it comes to Mandela’s story.
http://thebackbencher.co.uk/3-things-you-didnt-want-to-know-about-nelson-mandela/He signed off on the deaths of innocent people, lots of them
Nelson Mandela was the head of UmKhonto we Sizwe, (MK), the terrorist wing of the ANC and South African Communist Party. At his trial, he had pleaded guilty to 156 acts of public violence including mobilising terrorist bombing campaigns, which planted bombs in public places, including the Johannesburg railway station. Many innocent people, including women and children, were killed by Nelson Mandela’s MK terrorists. Here are some highlights
-Church Street West, Pretoria, on the 20 May 1983
-Amanzimtoti Shopping complex KZN, 23 December 1985
-Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court, 17 March 1988
-Durban Pick ‘n Pay shopping complex, 1 September 1986
-Pretoria Sterland movie complex 16 April 1988 – limpet mine killed ANC terrorist M O Maponya instead
-Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court, 20 May 1987
-Roodepoort Standard Bank 3 June, 1988
Tellingly, not only did Mandela refuse to renounce violence, Amnesty refused to take his case stating “[the] movement recorded that it could not give the name of ‘Prisoner of Conscience’ to anyone associated with violence, even though as in ‘conventional warfare’ a degree of restraint may be exercised.”

Many are the words of praise heaped upon a man who promoted murder and who had one goal the destruction of a democratic nation. It is a sadder comment on the people who accept what they hear from propaganda spinning machines. The ANC had a grusome practice of placing a tire filled with gas around the neck of anyone who spoke against them ; setting it a blaze they called this action neck tieing. It is odd that people who claim to love the people will always do the most horendous things to those people then seek to blame others for those acts. In our country we have a party which seeks to take away all of our civil rights and they claim they do this for our good. When their lie is exposed it is then said to be as their orical of shame says another vast right wing republican conspericy.

I think it is interesting to read alternative points of view about Mandela. I was brought up to believe he was a terrorist and then suddenly he was a saint. Who knows, not up to me to say. But I appreciate people who do post alternative comments after this death. A bit like when Margaret Thatcher died – eulogies on the one hand and hatred on the other.
