Let me answer my question in no particular order. Because: I believe that the federal government should not be in the business of providing home and student loans to citizens. That they should not forcibly take money from the folks who earned it, and give to those who did not work for it. That it is the duty of all healthy Americans to provide for themselves and their family, and to others if they so choose. That folks should save for their own retirement. Our citizens should be protected from foreign invaders in all forms: Illegal immigrants, and foreign businesses. That America should use our own natural resources to supply its needs. That there are moral absolutes in this world. All people are created equally, until they rape,murder,steal, or cheat. A cross on public property is not unconstitutional. People should be hired on their abilities, and not quotas from the government.
And that there is a God, because He gave us beer! 🙂

I wish the government had never given me student loans, actually. I have a boatload of unshakeable debt and a fairly useless degree. Both things my fault, though, so I shouldn’t complain too much.

If the feds were not involved in these loans, I believe tution would be much more affordable at state colleges. They create so much red tape, and worst of all; it creates a debt, which gives them a little more control over you. If I am not mistaken, you can’t declare bankruptcy for these loans. Never say useless, college is more than just a degree. Friends, experiences, and contacts. I have read some of your material and it is very well written.

There will never be enough jobs for all able bodied American workers. The NAFTA agreement screwed the American workers and sent jobs outside of the USA, The so called Free Trade with Communist China and other foreign countries has sucked three million or more jobs out of the USA, and think of all the companies that have went out of business due to the second Great Depression. In another time or Era your idea would have made sense but not now.
Thankfully the American workers have safety nets they’ve paid for already if they ever become unemployed. Welfare,Unemployment Insurance..etc.
I was thinking about getting a degree in Web design,animation and Multi-Media until they told me it would cost $40,000 and this is an online degree…..are they insane!
I’ll teach myself….for free….;-] there are still libraries around.
